How Attending a Boys Summer Camp Helps to Build Strength of Character
Sports build character. This adage is true and we all know this. Then it follows that any type of summer camp for boys located in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada, be it canoe camp for boys, adventure summer camps, or overnight summer camps, they all go together to build physical strength as well as strength of character. The activities at summer camps facilitate in building sterling character to prepare young men for the challenges of life as adults.
Many boys summer camps located in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada were started with the aim to provide: rewarding, healthful, and maturing summer experiences. It instills self confidence, self reliance, the spirit of teamwork, comradeship, and the quality of having respect in the campers. The interesting thing is these things are not drilled in to them in boring class room sermons. They pick these things as they go about their activities at the boys’ summer camp.
Early on boys are told have fun but follow the instructions and heed their guides and counselors. At every step kids learn to be alert and attentive. Before taking any action they use their brains and think whether it’s safe or risky. They learn to follow instructions and respect people that know how to remain safe while having fun. While on an overnight summer camp or wilderness summer camp kids learn to follow rules even when there may not be anyone to monitor them. They know non compliance may harm them and may even put their lives in danger.
Paddling for days develops boys’ physical strength and stamina. Their minds also become sharp and their decision taking abilities improve. They learn survival and safety skills that may help them in any crisis situation. Pitted against nature in the wilderness kids develop team spirit to tackle problems. They start respecting other’s abilities and their own. Operating as a team tackling crisis situations becomes easier for them. A summer camp experience can empower the boys to challenge and extend their limits.
Overnight summer camps become ennobling experiences for boys as they learn many good things from each other and the friendly staff. Having trekked through the forests, swam in the lakes and the rivers, paddled, and rested on the canoe your kid would feel like he belonged there, and belonged to the elements of nature. He would feel like the native Indians might have felt centuries ago and our ancestors felt years ago – one with the nature.
Adventure summer camp lays the foundation in a boy’s early life to seek out unalloyed pleasure from nature. Nature is bounteous in this regard. It lets whales and elephants have fun, why not human beings. Participating in canoe adventures a boy realizes how to enjoy life. Later on when he grows up, the enthusiasm to continue the same zeal to enjoy life is likely to stay and provide a crucial vent to an otherwise routine life. The vigorous appetite to enjoy enhances the quality of life. Once started early in life, the fire keeps burning well in to old age.
Having enjoyed his traditional overnight camp and outdoor adventure camp your kid will be ready for the rigors of school with a fresh mind and body. Spending time with other boys and in an almost “boys only” kind of atmosphere he would emerge a better boy. The challenging physical tasks would toughen him up. His summer camp experiences will be far more superior to other holiday experiences of kids. At the end of it all he would emerge stronger and sharper. This is what has been appealing about Pathfinder to generations of campers. Campers send their sons to taste a slice of action at Pathfinder. The sons send their sons and likewise it has been continuing as if coming to Pathfinder is a rite of passage. The rite of passage clearly brings out the man in your boy. You will be proud to see him when you come to pick him up and take home. The excitement in their tones as they recount their memories about the boys summer camp will clearly indicate how much they enjoyed the summer camp stay.

How the Bishops Blog and What For?
There is a misunderstanding among the general people that churches and the people associated with them are bound by chains of traditionalism and faith. They disapprove of everything modern. While they are aware of the internet, a few of them may be using them and that too sparingly. Well take away the misconception from your eyes. Even though a house of faith, the churches are as modern in their outlook as anyone else. That is they are still traditional but in a modern garb. While the church leaders still continue to preach in the church pew they are also using the internet to reach across to a wider range of people who are not able to otherwise visit the church. This has resulted in the creation of a number of blogging bishops. Now both the lay folks and the church leaders are equally computer savvy and use the internet extensively to serve their purposes. The main aim of these blogging bishops is to instill faith in God and spread the message of peace throughout the world through the available means. Now-a-days blogging is one of them. God has created this world and the creatures and human beings are among them. Human being is only equipped with a Brain and that brain is the only difference between him and the other creatures. Hence the blogging bishops take a new leap in blogging.
They are a new breed of internet savvy bishops who are comprised of both the sexes. (Yes there are female bishops too from all across the world but not from England). These have created a number of blog sites on different topics and chapters from the Bible and other philosophical books. Just like God channels which preach on the television, there are also God sights to preach the individuals on the internet.
Blogs are a way with these bishops to record in their thoughts, their musings, and their preaching. They give out sermons through their written blogs. They think that they could reach a greater number of people by creating their own blogs. Thus, they move beyond the pew and the public and reach out to a larger number of followers who religiously follow their blogs.
A number of people from all across the world keep an eye on these blogging sites. Limited by time constraint or geography constraints they choose one of them as their favorite and religiously follow their blog sites. This way the readers think that they are benefiting from the teachings of the churches even if they are not able to go to their house of faiths. The reader feels an inner calm and an illumination of mind and body by going through the blogs of them.
But, not all bishops stick to the house of faith for their blogs. Some like the openly gay bishop Right Rev Robinson of New Hampshire is quite controversial in his approach. Thus, his blogs stir quite a reaction and are spicy new items.
Other important sites of interest in this field are Right Rev Nick Bains of Croydon and Right Rev Mike Hill, Bishop of Bristol.
The 5Rs of Content Creation
Creating new content is not an easy task. Most people get a brain lock whenever they try to write new materials.
However, if you want to be a successful Internet marketer, you know you have to come up with fresh and interesting content regularly. Otherwise, your traffic will dry up and hard-earned subscribers will lose interest. How do you overcome this challenge?
It’s simple, just follow my 5Rs of content creation and things will start to flow a lot smoother.
1. RESEARCH
Even before I fire up the trusty word processor, the first thing I do is head to Google’s Keyword Tool to research phrases that people are using to search. I start with something related to a topic and get ideas from there. For example, “content creation.” That led me to other popular search terms like blog content creation, content creation help, online content creation etc.
Without thoroughly researching your ideas, you’ll find yourself running out of ideas to write about and/or guessing on what your readers would be interested in learning. You’d be surprised how many different ideas and directions you can branch out to from your initial thought after doing your research.
Of course, Google is not the only source of content ideas. Try visiting popular forums and reading about the different questions being asked around your topic or try Yahoo! Answers.
Bottom line – better research leads to better content.
2. REARRANGE
I always start my content creation with an outline. This helps me to organize my thoughts, rearrange ideas until I get a good flow going. Then I flesh out the bullet points into full-blown paragraphs. An outline also helps to create a roadmap as you progress from chapter to chapter until you finish your eBook or report.
To see a screen shot of my outline (partial) from one of my latest eBooks, head over to my blog.
3. REVEAL
Adding a few personal touches or sharing anecdotes can go a long way in humanizing your content. No one likes to read text that sounds like a sermon.
Share stories or provide examples like I have done above to make it more interesting and help your readers connect with their own situation.
Revealing some personal experiences is very important especially if you are writing about a technical topic. A picture is worth a thousand words and can quickly simplify a complex concept that otherwise would take you many words to explain. Studies have shown that people retain information quicker and longer when you engage their visual senses.
4. READ
If you are going to edit your own content (never a good idea) then the best way is to read your text aloud. I print my copy and then read it back to myself. This forces me to read every word rather than allow my mind to autosuggest words that are not there.
Don’t just rely on the automatic spelling and grammar checker. For example, no software in the world can flag the error between their and there. Here are some more common mistakes; lose and loose, it’s for its and further vs. farther.
I use a professional copyediting service to proof read my final manuscript before I publish it into an eBook. Believe me, it is well worth the expense.
If you can’t afford the cost, have a friend who has never seen your copy read it and allow them to critique your content freely. You don’t have to accept all their suggestions but at least you’ll have the benefit of another pair of eyes having reviewed your content.
5. REVISE
Our brains have two parts – the left side is analytical and the right side is visual and tends to see the whole picture. Use both sides of your brain when writing content but one side at a time.
Let the right half of your brain start writing as the creative juices flow. Don’t interrupt it by stopping to correct errors (other than obvious typos).
Once you have your first draft completed, allow the left side of your brain to take over and start being critical and analytical as you go over your copy.
Rearrange words, paragraphs and may be entire chapters until you feel comfortable how each paragraph and chapter flows into the next respectively. This is where you need to wear your editor’s hat rather than be the creative writer.
Don’t be afraid to tear apart your initial outline if you think it will improve the product. Just be careful that perfectionism doesn’t stop you from launching your masterpiece altogether.
I realize the above 5Rs may seem a bit daunting at first. Let me assure you that with some practice, all this will become very natural and you’ll be creating content like a professional copywriter in no time at all.

If The World Were One Church
The scene in my mind is one full of chaos, disorder and unrest as I try to picture this title in reality. Pleased smiles, condemning sighs and grunts, encouraging cheers, angry looks, disagreeing gestures, shuffling feet, excited chatter (which could either be excited- happy or excited-angry) and probably impatient exits, would grace every Sunday (let’s not be too assuming), would grace every service. These gestures would be necessitated by the sermons of the various pastors trying to pass across the Word in what way they understand it best.Back to the real world where the world is not one church, various ministries have sprung up in the bid to populate heaven and save God’s creatures from the destruction of hell. Unfortunately, the diversity in Christendom is in itself a source of strife amongst the very people whose essence should be love, hence the reason to critically assess the situation. In Nigeria today, countless ‘Men of God’ exist claiming to have been called to lead the sheep of the Great Shepherd in the path of righteousness and ultimately into heaven, the bliss of the righteous. As a result, the number of churches existing in the country is staggering making it increasingly difficult for someone who has no ties to any of them to make a choice of which to attend. Funnily, instead of this somehow intensifying the unity amongst believers, it is contributing to condemnation, hatred and even strife amongst those of the same faith. Look at it this way. We hear of so many conflicts and even wars among people of different tribes, or children from different mothers but it is rare to find people of the same tribe warring against themselves. So it seems it is with the ‘Christian tribe’. This is therefore a bid to understand and maybe proffer a solution.First, let me say that I think that these ‘Men of God’ found their ministry on the understanding and convictions they personally hold of the Word and the doctrines of Christianity (maybe I should add, as made clear to them by the Holy Spirit, and maybe I shouldn’t). And because we all know that understanding, opinion and preferences differ, some things would have more weight to some than to others. These convictions and preferences then form a ‘trademark’ by which the churches are identified. For example, some churches do not permit the wearing of jewelry for ladies, some don’t permit wearing of trousers, some dictate the length, style and even color of dresses, others permit the uncovering of hair for the ladies and the list goes on and on.Apart from the trademark that these convictions bring, it also raises the need for a separate gathering of those who agree with such convictions to fellowship hence the establishment of various churches.I took some time to look at some of these churches in Nigeria critically and I found out that each of them have their dominant messages sort of like a theme in which the essence of the ministry is embedded. Pastor E.A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God teaches essentially on the Holy Spirit and His ministry. Pastor W.F. Kumuyi of the Deeper Life Bible Church concentrates on holiness. Bishop David Oyedepo on the potentials of the believer to prosper and discovering divine purpose. Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo on experiencing financial freedom. Pastor Olukoya of Mountain of Fire and Miracles on prayer. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy on the authority of the believer. Pastor Bimbo Odukoya (May her soul rest in peace), of the Fountain of Life Church, on singles and married. I could go on and on but I need you to work with me here.Note that each of these areas is fundamental to the Christian and his growth. Now, I’m not implying here that these Men of God do not teach topics relating to other areas but these areas are fundamental to their ministries and constitute the larger part of their teachings. If the world were one church, won’t every believer grow seeing that they’ll have the opportunity to listen to all the aspects of their Christian lives from experts in the field? If the world were one church, would all these ministers of God be united and agree? If the world were one church would the believers resort to having a holy war? If the world were one church would we have more standing Christians than struggling believers? Now, if the world were one church, I have no idea what would happen seeing that I have not mentioned up to a tenth of the pastors that exist in the country.Maybe you’ll be able to tell me what you think would happen, if the world were one church.
Make your Speech a Success…
Once a young priest asked his honest grandmother how she found his first sermon. She answered:” I noticed only three flaws in it. First, you were reading. Second, you were not reading very well. And third, that sermon was not worth reading at all!” We can only imagine how the priest reacted to such words. But I don’t think he was pleased. In some colleges and universities after submitting your http://www.superiorpapers.com term papers you have to present them orally.
You are expected to make public speeches and to capture the attention of your exacting professors. How to avoid such comment from their side? And instead impress them with your speaking and be proud of yourself? They say, that if you steal one idea it is plagiarism and if a lot of then it is education. Why can’t we learn from the most prominent orators and their secrets of success? Let’s do it right now. No long speeches!!! You can make a speech longer than 20 minutes, but remember you are not paid for it. Never say “In conclusion”, “And the last thing I would like to tell you” if you have more than a minute before the actual end. Y
our listeners will be bored to death, when after these words you continue speaking for another 15 minutes. Maneuvering! Without some maneuvers your speech will be insipid like meat without salt. Expression Your speech is your way of giving a part of you to people. Expression may be considered as inner speech. Be emotional and people will listen to you with interest. Humor (not at colleges/ universities) If you are not making your speech on your http://www.superiorpapers.com/college_term_paper.php college term paper, say something funny and something humorous at the beginning of the speech. If people smile at you, they are yours. Humor is some kind of emotional argument, which people accept with pleasure. Practice makes perfect. If you are at the football ground for the first time, you are hardly to become a leading player. Don’t miss a single opportunity to make speeches in public.Pausing.Maugham said, that if you took a pause, make it a long one. Scientists determined that being silent (not shouting) serves as an attention grabber. Your pauses will give a listener ability to think about your words. Don’t panic. You must not make excuses like:• You had too little time for preparation• See the microphone for the first time• You are worried and so on.
It has a negative effect on the emotional atmosphere among the audience. And then it will be more difficult and confusing for you to go on speaking. It is better to joke and if you stumbled, that is all right. Make a pause and then go ahead.Let your silence be thoughtful: You will impress everyone, if after a reflecting pause; you will continue your speech with more energy. Contrasts always capture attention.
